40 pounds down!

I know my progress has been extremely slow over the past 6 months but honestly I am fine with that. My initial weight loss was a result of being very dedicated to a low carb ketogenic style diet.  When I was eating like that, the weight seemed to melt off.  After March of this year I started easing myself back into eating carbs and am proud that I was able to maintain the weight I had lost while not being as strict with my diet. Now I am ready to move to the next phase of weight loss and am about to start my low carb diet again. Especially after weighing in at 195 today which officially marks 40 pounds lost from my highest weight!

Breakfast today! Eaten on a bed of mixed greens. So good.
Also went to the farmers market after class this afternoon and bought my first spaghetti squash of the season! I am so excited, yay fall is here!!!

Fitspo of the Day ~ Jennifer Lawrence

Jennifer is most known for her action heroine roll in the blockbuster film adaptation of the widely successful Hunger Games. She was excited to train for the film even if it meant changing her diet and exercise routine to get herself in fighting shape. With the help of her trainer, Joseph Horrigan, she started doing running, cardio, track, and agility drills, as well as rock and tree climbing, yoga, and of course archery.

Her nutrition consisted of higher carbs for energy, moderated calories, and lower saturation and trans fats. She hates to diet, so instead she focuses on portion control and balance.

“First, people say how so many actresses in Hollywood look anorexic, and now they are criticizing me for looking normal. Body images are too often adopted by young girls and women — thanks to what they are constantly being shown as being attractive.”

“I don’t diet. I do exercise, but I don’t diet. You can’t work when you’re hungry, you know?”

Nothing is a better de-stresser than a good run.
